Long Term Care
"If I'd known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself." - James Hubert Blake
Long Term Care Insurance can prevent the overwhelming cost of care from depleting assets while helping the insured maintain independence and control over their destiny.
What is long term care?
The need for long term care can come unexpectedly at any age. Accidents, severe illness or memory loss can leave a person financially vulnerable. Long term care includes a wide range of custodial care, medical and support services. It provides assistance with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) or supervision of someone who is cognitively impaired.
Long term care can be provided in many health and personal care settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospice care facilities, as well as at home.
Offered simplified issue during the first 60 days of employment, long term care insurance may be purchased year-round with evidence of insurability. The program is fully portable at the same rate upon termination of employment or retirement.
